Sonia V.M. De Helfer, Ph.D., was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has exhibited her abstract paintings and drawings in Madrid, Buenos Aires, Zweibrucken, New York, and Park City among others.

Sonia took an art sabbatical in order to successfully pursue her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Philosophy with a minor in Spanish Literature from the University of Utah in the U.S. She has published various works, including short stories in Argentine magazines, and a book of bilingual poems.

Sonia launched her art career into the forefront by showing her abstract work on the island of St. Maarten, back in Argentina, Kansas, and Utah.

Sonia continues writing and her artwork can currently be found at Gallery 55 in McCall, Idaho.
